Yes that means you cannot hit neutral.

Baker Drivetrain N1 Shift systems drums are also popular with handshifting bikes where finding neutral without doubt or error is critical to safety or riding for smooth shifting and is available for 5 and 6-Speed Motorcycle transmissions. Make note that if you purchased your BAKER Six-Speed Custom Motorcycle after June, 2000 that you will need the BAKER OD6 Shift Drum for your applications. If you purchased your unit prior to that date you need to buy the Baker Drivetrain N171-6 Shift Kit. The N181-6 has the bearing installed into the female end of the drum and the Baker Drivetrain N171-6 Shift Kit comes with 6061-T6 pillow blocks and a torsion-spring-loaded detent system. Parts Numbers for the N1 pattern 6-speed Drum are p/n N181-6 and p/n N171-6 for the 6-speed Shift Kit . For the 5-Speed: BAKER Drivetrain N1 Shift Drums are available for stock or Baker custom motorcycle transmission applications as the 80-97 p/n 2-5R-N1 and 98-up p/n 2-5RL-N1. For more information and to ensure that you order the correct parts, Contact Baker Drivetrain Premium Drivetrain Innovations for American Motorcycles and tell em that Boss Hawg sent ya.

Great job Rhonda and be sure to let us all know just what you will put on your Crossbones next with your $100 Performance Machine product certificate.

“My 2008 HD Crossbones is my baby. I have put PM Factor Contrast Cut Stealth wheels, rotors and pulley on it. Also sporting XO Prodox Shooter grips, highway pegs and shifter pegs. One off custom made front axle nut covers. Love the sound of it from the Vance & Hines Big Radius pipes, the Kuryakyn Hyper-charger and the power commander. Changed the sprung seat to a more lean, lower chopper style seat. There is custom pin-stripping on the horn cover. This bike is definitely not your typical chick bike. Gotta love it. Ride safe and ride often.”

As promised, please take a look at the three winners of the Performance Machine’s April Bike of the Month contest here at Boss Hawg Blawg. They are as follows:

1. Jim E.’s 2010 HD Street Glide

Jim’s 2010 HD Street Glide features the following PM products:

- Contrast Cut Heathen wheels
- Matching rotors
- Renthal grips
- Chrome bag latches

And here’s Jim’s statement about his bike:

“ I am happy to report that my wife picked out the wheels on this bike! That is a big deal, as the first time she rode it, we had to pull over so she could vomit-it made her motion sick! The bike was purchased REALLY new (was only 2 weeks off assembly line) from Adamec Harley in Jacksonville. Maiden voyage was to St. Augustine, FL and she refused to ride it again, until I put on a detachable sissy bar. Motion sickness solved-off to Daytona for Biketoberfest. While at Biketoberfest (with my bone stock Street Glide), my buddy decided to buy a chopper-which kinda made my bike look..well..stock. While walking around Destination Daytona, we started looking at wheels, and my wife fell in love with the PM wheels. If I wanted new wheels, those had to be the ones! While waiting for the wheels/tires/rotors to be installed, I went ahead and put on PM bag latches, PM grips, and a Kuryakyn curved license plate frame. When we got home, the bike went straight to HD to get the front end chromed out, Covington Cycle fork bells, and lowered 2.5”. Still a work in progress, but at least the wife doesn’t get sick & she loves the wheels!”

2. Rhonda H.’s 2008 HD Crossbones

Rhonda’s 2008 HD Crossbones features the following PM products:

- Stealth Contrast Cut Factor wheels
- Stealth Contrast Cut Factor Brake Discs
- Stealth Contrast Cut Belt Sprocket

Here’s Rhonda’s statement about her bike:

Took me some time to think it over and put it together;

Changes include:

Complete New Black Paint, Legend Air Rear Suspension, Front lowered 2 inches with Flush Mount Axle, Vance & Hines Exhaust with Rush Slip Ons, Stage 1, Screamin’Eagle Black Air Filter, PM Torque Wheels & Front Rotors, Sound Amplifier/Speakers updated, P.M Speakers Grills, RSD Handlebar powder coated black with all internal cables to have a clean look, Console powder coated in black with with P.M.
Here’s how it works. Enter your bike in the April contest by submitting one or two photos of your ride to Marketing Media. Performance Machine staff will review all submissions and choose the top three custom motorcycles based on the loud and proud use of Performance Machine products! Performance Machine will then post the top three picks (in no particular order) on their Custom Motorcycle Parts Blog so as all Performance Machine fans will have a chance to vote for the April Motorcycle of the Month. The winner whose bike receives the most votes in an online poll will have his or her custom motorcycle featured on the Custom Motorcycle Parts Blog and will receive a $100 gift certificate towards any Performance Machine products.

Now we all know how some of us bikers are, so make note that some rules and conditions do apply, therefore, in order for any Performance Machine accessorized Custom Motorcycles to be entered and considered for April 2010’s PM Bike of the Month honors the following applies: 1. Your bike must have Performance Machine products. 2. You must submit at least one (1) original photo — but no more than two (2) original photos — of your bike via email to Marketing Media. 3. By submitting your photo(s), you must agree that the photo(s) do not infringe upon or violate the copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, or other rights of any third party, and that you grant permission to Performance Machine, Inc. to use your photos on their custom motorcycle parts blog, Performance Machine web site and other Performance Machine, Inc. controlled sales and marketing mediums at its choosing in perpetuity. 4. All entries for April’s contest must be received by 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time on Friday, March 26, 2010. 5. All entries must include a 150-300 word written description related to the installation of PM products on the bike in question. 6. One (1) entry is allowed per person.

There are only three days remaining to enter, so submit your photos and write-up today for the Performance Machine Custom Motorcycle April Bike of the Month contest. Entries must be received by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 26. Then, be sure to check back Monday, March 29, to see if your bike made it into the top three, and then cast your vote for who should receive the Performance Machine Custom Motorcycle April Bike of the Month top honor! Good luck and all the best, Boss Hawg.
